Week of March 11th - 15th, 2024
- Continued to learn about Order of Operations as we began to solve equations involving parentheses along with all the other operations we've been practicing. We also used our understanding to solve a challenging question: "Using only four 4s create an equation using addition/subtraction/multiplication/division/parentheses that results in the answers 0 to 3".
- Finished our Gratitude Writing based on the book, "What I Like Most"
- Learned about the suffix "-al" and what different words with this suffix mean (Ask your student to tell you about the meaning of the different words parts of "extraterrestrial")
- Completed our slideshows for our Undefeated project about our selected Black historical figure using the research we each completed
- Reviewed the Scientific Method and wrote a lab for the Snow Volcanoes task we did last week
- Used our understanding of reversible and irreversible chemical reactions to categorize different changes and explain why we knew which type they were
- Completed a comprehension and vocabulary check-in to see our reading progress since September
- Participated in a Minecraft Level Up Calgary Meeting to learn about the challenge we're starting
- Practiced our reading fluency during "Read to Someone" as well as worked on our personal reading goals and literacy stations throughout the week
- Completed a Field Study Scattegories where we had to note down creative things that could be found in our school field using each letter of the alphabet
- Learned about Mental Health with Mrs. Barnden
