Week of June 3rd - 7th, 2024
This week we:
- Practiced finding the area of rectangles with equal perimeters and find the perimeters of rectangles with equal areas
- Continued our class read-aloud of "City of Ember" and answered questions as a class about what we had read so far
- Finished our paragraphs about our Metis Inspired Dot Art
- Completed daily Literacy Stations independently and with our Word Work groups
- Focused on the suffix "-ant" with our daily morpheme activities
- Used blue and red litmus paper to test the pH of different liquids
- Completed our Classroom Chemistry Study Guide before taking our Science Quiz
- Brainstormed evidence why "Big" or "The Fire of Stars" should win the Caldecott Award in our groups before we independently begin our final writing assignment
- Used 100 square unit tiles to make a shape with an area of 100 square units
- Created a square metre using different materials before answering questions about what kinds of items would fit in a square metre
- Started to learn about New France and worked on a research task learning about the daily life in New France
- Listened to a Choir and Band performance from the students at Nose Creek School
