Week of June 3rd - 7th, 2024

This week we:

Practiced finding the area of rectangles with equal perimeters and find the perimeters of rectangles with equal areas
Continued our class read-aloud of "City of Ember" and answered questions as a class about what we had read so far
Finished our paragraphs about our Metis Inspired Dot Art
Completed daily Literacy Stations independently and with our Word Work groups
Focused on the suffix "-ant" with our daily morpheme activities
Used blue and red litmus paper to test the pH of different liquids
Completed our Classroom Chemistry Study Guide before taking our Science Quiz
Brainstormed evidence why "Big" or "The Fire of Stars" should win the Caldecott Award in our groups before we independently begin our final writing assignment
Used 100 square unit tiles to make a shape with an area of 100 square units
Created a square metre using different materials before answering questions about what kinds of items would fit in a square metre
Started to learn about New France and worked on a research task learning about the daily life in New France
Listened to a Choir and Band performance from the students at Nose Creek School
