Today we:
- Worked on our daily C.A.F.E. reading goals
- Completed a check-in about the 4 requirements of all polygons as well as started to organize our quadrilateral family tree
- Read another chapter of "City of Ember" and learned about the meaning of the word "Egress"
- Discovered that pepper floats until soap is added to break the surface tension of the water and the water moves to the edges of the container
- Introduced the "Water Filtration Project" - students will be responsible for designing a filtration system that separates a jar of water we have in the classroom using the separation techniques taught in the Classroom Chemistry unit. The different substances that students need to separate from the water are: oil, rocks, cornstarch, and iron fillings.
