Week of May 6th - 10th, 2024

 This week we: 

  • Independently practiced transferring growing and shrinking patterns to table of values as well as representing them on a graph
  • Finished our Code of Conduct essays in Health
  • Continued to rotate through Literacy Stations focused on our personal reading goals as well as with our Word Work groups
  • Listened to a presentation from Rod Bauer, the Assistant Principal of Nose Creek School, about what to expect in Middle School next year
  • Learned about different features of a non-fiction text such as the glossary, table of contents, and index and used these to complete a textbook scavenger hunt in Social 
  • Finished learning about the prefeix "Ad" and completed a check-in to display our understanding
  • Learned about the different Indigenous groups that can be found in Canada
  • Watched our classmates' Book Talks and voted on our favourite books we think should move onto the next phase of the competition
  • Completed Round 1 and 2 of our Caldecott Madness where some of our favourite picture books from the year went head-to-head and we discussed and decided which ones better fit the Caldecott Award criteria
  • Used watercolour paints and thin sharpies to create some beautiful Spring Art to gift to someone we love!
  • Played an Area/Perimeter tag game outside for Field Study Friday to introduce our next Shape and Space unit in Math
