Week of March 18th - 21st, 2024
This week we:
- Finished our research in our region booklets about the different jobs people have based on the resources in our region
- Learned about different properties as part of our Classroom Chemistry unit and completed a series of task cards around the classroom to check our understanding of what we'd learned in the unit so far
- Continued to practice and demonstrate our understanding of order of operations through a variety of tasks and activities involving equations that included addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and parentheses
- Answered some reflection questions and wrote a summary identifying the setting, characters, and problems from our Class Read-Aloud, "A Rover's Story"
- Presented our Undefeated Research Projects about the Black Historical Figures we had chosen and spent time providing feedback to our peers based on their presentation skills
- Completed a series of mid-year Check-Ins to see our reading progress in regard to our comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling
- Used the Design Thinking Process to complete the Tin Foil Task where we created a prototype of a utensil for a peer to use to fix a problem they had eating their favourite food
- Selected new reading goals based on our next steps to complete during our daily Read to Self time
