 Today we:

  • Reviewed our understanding of word referents and used a variety of sources to write some for the word, "soldier"
  • Completed a performance task to demonstrate our understanding of rotations
  • Read more of our Global Read-Aloud book, "The Jumbies" and posted some questions we have about the book so far
  • Began to learn more about latitude and longitude
  • Played Extreme Pumpkin Smash in P.E.
Reminders:

  • Halloween - TOMORROW on Friday, October 29th students can dress in "black and orange" or wear costumes, if they want. Only "appropriate" costumes are allowed (no fake blood, masks, fake weapons, etc). Mrs. Brinson has also sent out information regarding costumes. Please give that a read!
  • The weather is about to get much colder and snowier! Please make sure your child has warm outdoor gear (jacket, hat, gloves/mitts, boots, and maybe even snow pants)! Students are going outside everyday for AM recess (15 min) and Lunch Recess (25 min), as well as some other outdoor activities (possibly Science, P.E. and other times such as Field Studies Fridays). We want everyone to be comfortable in the winter weather, so warm gear is essential). If it is too cold, students will stay inside (the cut off temperature is -20C).
