Week of May 27th - 31st, 2024

 This week we: 

  • Created Minecraft characters provided the provided area for each of their body parts
  • Continued to read "City of Ember" and attempted to fill in the mising letters from "The Instructions" Lina found in the book
  • Finished planning and practicing for our debate. We hosted two debates this week for the Caldecott Picture books and discussed the expectations of conducting a debate. 
  • Completed a task about the suffixes -ful, -ment, and -less
  • Created Metis Inspired Dot Art about something that symbolizes an important value to our family or culture
  • Drew our own Robots and found the area and perimeter of each body part
  • Used our work from Science as well as provided weblinks to complete a Study Guide for Classroom Chemistry
  • Wrote our monthly Letter to Miss Gadbois
  • Used geoboards to help us create different rectangles that have a perimeter of 22cm
  • Went outside and used metre sticks and measuring wheels to find the area and perimeter of our school field
  • Completed a mini science experiment using coins and eyedroppers of water to determine how many drops of water we could fit on a coin before spilling over to support our understanding of surface tension

  • June 6 – SPIRIT DAY: Hawaiian Luau Day – Students can dress in beach wear, Hawaiian shirts, etc.
  • June 6 – 6:00 to 8:00 – Family Dance
